The next two weeks will be busy ones for me and exciting ones for the film. Next Saturday, Oct. 14, Grounds for Resistance will be screened at the Annual Meeting of the American Folklore Society. As a folklorist, I’ve been an active member of this society for over 16 years. I presented a rough cut of the film at last year’s meeting and received lots of insightful feedback that was of great help in cutting down the film and refining the narrative. Now, I’m looking forward to showing the final version.
The following Saturday, the film will be screened at its first film festival, the REEL Independent Film Extravaganza http://www.reelindependentfilm.com/home.cfm. I’m honored to be included in the festival and am delighted that I will be able to make the trip to Washington D.C. to participate!
I’m financing submitting the film to festivals through film sales, and my coffers are very low at the moment. If you’re interested in purchasing the film, please get in touch or hit the “donate” button on the home page to order using paypal.
